A school driver in Lagos State, Nigeria has defiled a 3-year-old toddler in a school where he worked.
Michael Mowete, was said to have picked the pupil of the school, name withheld after close of school but defiled the minor before delivering her at her mother’s shop.
The police said the 35-year-old man committed the act on September 27, 2019, around 3.30 p.m., between the minor’s school and her mother’s shop.
Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Kehinde Omisakin who arraigned the suspect before a
Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, on Thursday charged Mowete, who resides at Block 2, Flat 2, Godmon Estate, Okota, with two counts of indecent and unlawful assault and defilement.
Omisakin said the offense contravenes the provisions of Sections 137 and 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The school driver, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate A.O. Komolafe ordered that Mowete be remanded in a Nigerian Correctional Service in Ikoyi, pending when the case would be filed at the special and sexual offences court, Ikeja.
She adjourned until November 20, 2019 for mention.
